Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is done for the season with an injured rib muscle.
With the Nationals playing for nothing but pride, the team felt it prudent to go ahead and shut down their star player.
Zimmerman didn’t see things quite the same way, saying he was still holding out hope he could finish the season on his own terms.
The third baseman will finish the year with a .307 batting average, easily the highest of his young career. (Read More…)
Washington Nationals outfielder Najer Morgan has been suspended eight more games by the MLB, this time for his role in a bench-clearing brawl.
That means Morgan currently has two pending suspensions against him accounting for 15 games. He is currently appealing the length of both suspensions.
The most recent issue arose after Morgan took out a Florida Marlins catcher and separated his shoulder, ending his season.
The following night, Florida hit Morgan in his first at-bat. He then stole two bases in the fourth inning in what was an 11-3 game, which prompted Florida to throw behind him in his next plate appearance. (Read More…)
